Rams Head Live

Baltimore, MD

Maryland’s own Charm City Devils played a hometown show on July 22 and this show was special because in many ways it was like a record re-release party and what I mean by that is they released their sophomore release “SINS” via an indie label and they were recently signed to a major label (E-1 Entertainment) which will re-release the “SINS” record with slightly different packaging & 3 bonus tracks not on the original release.

The Niki Barr Band opened for Charm City Devils and the lovely Niki & her band are always such a fun band to not only listen to but to watch because each member brings something different to the table. The bands music is an interesting mix of hard rock, metal & pop with moods that range from love to rage.

“Sex Fiend” was the high energy closer for the bands set & if you ever get a chance to check out the bands cover of “Closer” by NIN I guarantee you’ll dig it!

Charm City Devils had a simple stage set up that had their banner behind them, a cage sat next to Jason’s drum kit and a sexy dancer took over the cage for several songs throughout the bands set.

CCD opened the show with several new songs and then went into the first song the band ever wrote/recorded “Burn” which also happens to be one of my personal favorites from the band. Interesting side note for those who care, the band have brand new monogrammed guitar pics with their band logo & they will be on tour throughout the rest of the year in support of their “SINS” record which has the hit single “Man of Constant Sorrow” on it.

“Unstoppable” is a fast paced rocker & it was recently used by the WWE...when the band plays it live that’s one of their most powerful songs live because it’s loud, fast & intense!

“Best of the Worst” was the tender & sweet moment in the show and as an added bonus the band tossed in their cover of The Black Keys “I Got Mine” with an interlude of “Voodoo Chile” by Jimi Hendrix.

Interestingly enough this show featured the 2 most commercial rock bands the State of Maryland has to offer and it was a night of rock anthems, dirty thoughts & lovely women because the girls came out for this show!
