Rams Head Live

Doors opened at 7 PM and the show started promptly at 8 PM with Monster Truck serving up a healthy dose of 70’s styled riff rock. The interesting thing about Monster Truck is that their looks match their music because the band members also look like 70’s refugees complete with long flowing locks & tie-dyed shirts!

The vocal presence of Monster Truck is personified by the fact that 3 of the 4 members sing very well (together & solo) and at any given time the bassist, guitarist or drummer can easily sing lead vocals!

This was primarily a hard rock/metal show and having Monster Truck there was unique because Monster Truck would fit more with The Allman Brothers or Lynyrd Skynyrd than say Alterbridge yet the crowd was respectful and enjoyed the band.

The crowd was another thing that actually surprised me because I expected a younger crowd but what showed up was a primarily middle aged and older crowd that looked like it had just gotten off work; no one was dress for a rock show or put any effort into looking cool.

Alterbridge played a 90 minute set that closed with the band bringing on stage Mr. Paul Reed Smith for a jam which I wasn’t really that impressed with if I’m being honest.

“Ghost” was my personal favorite of the Alterbridge set and Miles told the crowd early on that the reason the band took the stage a little later than scheduled was because he was under the weather and wasn’t able to get his voice ready in time for the show. Despite Miles illness he sounded amazing and delivered a kick ass performance from start till finish!

Alterbridge Set List: Addicted, White Knuckles, Come To Life, Brand New Start, Ghosts, Ties That Bind, Waters Rising, Isolation, Broken Wings, Farther Than The Sun, Metalingus, One Day Remains, Blackbird, Open Your Eyes, Rise Today (with Paul Reed Smith)
