Black Sabbath are the creators of Heavy Metal music. Black Sabbath created a sound which influenced every single band in the hard music genre. Black Sabbath is dead?
On February 4, 2017 Ozzy, Tony, and Geezer performed their supposed last show together; EVER! Will this be the end of all music from Tony Iommi, Ozzy, and Geezer? It’s unlikely, because Iommi has talked of recording new music with other singers while Ozzy is touting a new solo record and 2+ year farewell solo tour.
This cd/dvd set chronicles the last show of Ozzy version of Sabbath and the audio quality is superb while the video is dynamic and rich. I will admit that there are moments where the band does sound tired and you can clearly see wear and tear with Ozzy, particularly in his voice. The highlight of this set is the rehearsal footage because you get to see Sabbath for one last time in the studio and performing 4 classic songs.
Is this truly the “end” for Black Sabbath? I would say no, this is simply the end of the Ozzy led Sabbath.
“Day of the Gusano”
In 2015 Slipknot brought Knotfest to Mexico City for the maggots. Slipknot fans are devoted to their brand, they live and breath for the art of Slipknot and this documentary not only features a concert set from Slipknot but also allows you access into several die hard Slipknot fans lives. Witnessing how Slipknot have changed peoples lives is inspiring but there’s a scene where Corey Taylor has a break down and cries which comes off a tad humorous.
Witnessing Slipknot practice in a tiny room before the show, chatting with band members off stage, this movie captures the Slipknot experience quite well and this is a must have package for every Slipknot fan!
Slipknot have reinvented their brand since iosing 2 key members and for what it's worth, this cd/dvd set proves that Slipknot are still a dominant force in heavy music with a fan base that backs them 100%!
Tales From The Porn are a direct result of all things 80’s hair metal; the guitar tone, the rhythm, the vocals, and the themes.
Fronted by Stevie Rachelle from Tuff and featuring Brazil’s finest hard rock musicians, Tales From The Porn have delivered a strong 9 song release which oozes all things from the old school sunset strip with non stop debauchery.
“Back To The 80’s” is the perfect opener for this record, it explains what the band is about perfectly and other than the token cover, “Danger Zone”, this record hits hard from start till finish.
One interesting sidenote to this record is the length. There’s no filler, no bonus tracks, no wasted space. This record is a solid listen and by the time you reach the end your ears begin to ask for a little more simply because the music flows so well that it’s over before you know it.
“Hot Girls Fast Cars” is a sleazy rocker, “Scary Movie” is a fun track, and “Perfect Love” is touching. This record is a must listen for all fans of 80’s styled hard rock.
