Who is Bob Suehs?

Bob Suehs

Rock N Roll Experience is a Maryland based web zine devoted to music and pop culture that is updated daily with reviews and interviews. It was founded by Bob Suehs in 1992 while he was a Senior in High School.

Growing up Bob was heavily influenced by all things music related and his favorite band was KISS which played rock n roll music that came packaged with a theatrical image.

A little known fact is the name “Rock N Roll Experience” actually came from an interview with Paul Stanley from KISS where Stanley described KISS as the “Ultimate Rock N Roll Experience.”

In the 1992 the first issue of 'Rock N Roll Experience' debuted with reviews on KISS, Alice in Chains, Skid Row & comic books.

Issue #2 was the issue that featured Bob’s first interview with a rock star...initially it was slated to be David Ellefson from Megadeth but due to an issue with time the first interview ended up being Fred Coury from Cinderella.

In 1993 Bob was recognized by the state of Maryland for his creation of Rock N Roll Experience & there was a breakfast held at the Hyatt Regency where Bob was the guest of honor. Bob gave a speech where he spoke before then Maryland Mayor Kurt Schmoke among others & he was given an award and a savings bond for his creation of Rock N Roll Experience.

In that same year Bob was named “Top 40 under 40” by The Baltimore Business Journal & articles on him & “Rock N Roll Experience” were featured in The Baltimore Sun, The Aegis, Harford Business Ledger & The Baltimore Business Journal.

Towards the end of the 90’s Rock N Roll Experience switched over to an online only format as the medium of print slowly started to die out.

“If I can’t tell the truth I don’t want to do this!” - Bob Suehs

That statement is the reason Bob’s interviews & reviews are so real, interesting & unique....he will ask people the questions most won’t have the balls to ask, he will say what’s on his mind and while he doesn’t try to disrespect others Bob will ask the hard questions that people really wanna know as opposed to the generic questions that you read in every other interview or review.

“If you’re not having fun why bother?” - Bob Suehs

That’s the entire approach to Bob’s life & his writing displays that....his quirky sense of humor, his weird ideas & his love for all things music bleed into each piece he does and it’s what’s why publicists & bands alike call him and ask him to review their products/music.

Incase you are not aware of it, Rock N Roll Experience is a one man venture....all reviews, interviews & pictures are by Mr. Bob Suehs.

“I’ve never claimed to be the best, when you’re good at something you don’t need to declare it....other’s will do that for you.” - Bob Suehs

Over the years Rock N Roll Experience has featured interviews with KISS (Gene, Paul & Ace), Judas Priest (Rob Halford), Iron Maiden (Bruce & Dave), Queensryche (Geoff), Korn (Jonathan Davis), Motorhead, Michael Monroe, Garbage, Megadeth, Mudvayne, Ministry & many, many more.

In 2007 Rock N Roll Experience was the first publication in the world to cover & publish photos from the first Hellyeah concert which was Vinnie Paul's first concert onstage prior to the death of Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. Gaining photo access to that particular show was extremely rare.

That same year Rock N Roll Experience featured a legendary piece on Glenn Danzig falling offstage in Baltimore which received over 100,000 hits & created a huge internet buzz.

In April of 2012 Bob went to New York to film segments for VH-1’s “Pantera - Behind the Music Remastered” which will air in mid 2012.
